What do I get for breakfast?
Breakfast is offered subject to availability.
It is served for groups (of at least 20 travelers) between 7am and 10am in our breakfast room and consists of rolls, ham, cheese, butter, jam, hazelnut cream, honey, meat paste, soft cheese, cereals, cocoa, coffee, tea, hot and cold milk, orange juice, cucumbers and apple,… for a small extra charge you can get boiled eggs.

Is there a kitchen in the hostel?
We can provide you with a microwave, water boiler, fridge and of course plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery…
What does the 12-bedroom look like?
In this room, the different sleeping areas are visually separated from each other. Besides the shower and WC inside the room there is also another in the corridor.
I have to check out at 10.30 but my train is leaving not until the evening. Where can I leave my luggage?
Feel free to use our free lockable luggage room.
Where do I get city maps?
At our reception – also for free.
Do you offer round-trips and tourist tours?
You can book several of them at the reception.
After having been out late, how do I get back into the hostel?
As our reception is occupied 24 hours a day, there is no need to worry about getting locked out. You can ring the bell outside at any time or use your keycard to open the door.
How late can I check in?
As long as you have reserved in advance it is no problem to check in after midnight.
Generally your bed will be reserved until 18.00 (06 p.m). Please call when arriving after 18.00, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled.

I would like to wash my clothes – is this possible at Westend City Hostel?
Yes, of course. We sell washing powder and tokens for the washing machine and the dryer, all for 8 EUR.
Can I use internet at Westend City Hostel?
We also offer free W-LAN for our guests. Just ask the receptionist for the password.
Can I drink the water from the tap?
Yes, the Viennese tap water comes directly from springs in the Styrian mountains and fulfills every quality standard worldwide. Enjoy it.
May I book if I do not have a credit card?
A booking is only possible on our website by assigning a valid credit card. The credit card is necessary to secure the booking and will not be charged. If you do not hold a credit card yourself, please ask a friend or relative to help you out. Reservations by telephone for dorms are only accepted one day prior to arrival. As long as you have reserved in advance it is no problem to check in after midnight. Generally your bed will be reserved until 18.00 (06 p.m). Please call when arriving after 18.00, otherwise the reservation will be cancelled. You can also transfer the fee for the first night by bank transfer.
How do I pay for my stay?
Payment is only accepted in cash on arrival. We do not accept credit cards.
How do I cancel my stay?
For single travellers cancellation is free up to 24 hours before arrival (till 8 a.m) only in writting per email . Otherwise we have to charge the first night to your credit card.
We are only three persons, but would like to stay on our own in a four-bed-room.
In this case we recommend you to book (and pay) also the fourth bed to make sure that you will not be bothered by a fourth person.
What is the difference between Cat. A. and Cat. B?
Cat. A. is a four-bedroom, which you booked as a single or two-bedroom (for a higher price).
Cat. B is smaller than Cat. A rooms and has a window to an airway which also serves as elevator shaft. The elevator will be shut down at 10pm.
Do I need a Youth Hostel card?
No, but please bring a valid ID card which we keep as deposit for the room key.
Do I have to bring bed sheets and towels with me?
No, bed sheets are included. You can buy towels at the reception for 6 EUR.
What kinds of rooms are available? How are they equipped?
It is rather simple to book a room at Westend City Hostel. First you should decide whether you like to stay in a private room or a dorm. See the details below. All our rooms are equipped with shower and WC. At your arrival you will receive a key. We will keep an ID card (no student ID!) or EURO 40,- as a deposit for the key.
Private rooms
Is it possible to have a room on our own?
Yes, there are two-, four-, five- and eight-bed-rooms. These rooms are also equipped with shower and WC. If you like to stay alone in a room, but are not enough people to fill it, we recommend you to pay also for the remaining beds to make sure that nobody else books them.
All rooms are also equipped with private, lockable lockers.
The prices are per person and night and include sheets and continental breakfast. 10% VAT and 2,8% city tariff is already included.
Dormitories
What kind of dorms are there?
In Westend City Hostel there are 4-5, 6-8 and 12-bed-dorms with shower and WC inside. They are not segregated by sex.
Please note that you have to be at least 18 years of age to sleep in a dorm, otherwise please book a private room.
